What is important is that if you sits at the bottom of the hill thinking about the hill, then perhaps the earthquake will collapse the hill on top of you, or perhaps the bear will decide to come down the hill and eat you anyways, or you sit there so long that you still run out of food and die of starvation, except at the bottom of the hill. In any case, you most certainly would not have made it to the top.
